Vaccination protects!
After their first birthday, UNVACCINATED children can only be cared for in our practice via the sluice gate in case of illness, separated from other children.
Information for parents of unvaccinated children
In our pediatric practice, we care for many young children every day, including newborns, premature babies, and children with serious chronic illnesses or conditions that weaken their immune systems. For these children in particular, an infectious disease such as measles can be life-threatening – especially if they cannot (yet) be vaccinated themselves.
As pediatricians, we consider vaccinations according to the Austrian vaccination schedule to be one of the greatest achievements of modern medicine. They save millions of lives worldwide every year and protect not only your own child, but also the community from the spread of dangerous diseases.
We respect that some parents have a critical stance towards vaccinations. Nevertheless, we urge you to reconsider your decision before your child's first birthday. Up to this age, we can provide regular care for your child in our practice, regardless of their vaccination status.
From the age of 1, the following rules apply in our practice for the protection of vulnerable patients:
-
Unvaccinated children with infections (e.g., fever, cough, rash) are not allowed to wait in the regular waiting area with other children. In these cases, we ask that you enter the practice only through our entrance and wait there with your child until it is their turn.
-
Unfortunately, regular co-management in a shared medical practice is no longer possible from the child's first birthday onwards if basic immunization is lacking.
We strongly recommend that all parents have their children vaccinated according to the official vaccination schedule – ideally by their first birthday. This protects your own child and also those who depend on the protection of others.
We are happy to have a detailed discussion about your concerns.
Thank you very much for your understanding and your responsibility towards all children in our practice.
